Tangerine Check
The piece
Tangerine Check warps a fine checkerboard into swelling, lens-like curves that seem to bulge off the floor. The rug runs in three horizontal bands: plum and magenta at the top, a lighter centre where cream and peach break through the black, and bright tangerine at the base. The repeated distortion gives it strong optical energy. It works in a studio, a playroom or a contemporary lounge with plain furniture.
