Onyx Lotus
The piece
Onyx Lotus sets rows of open lotus blooms on a deep black ground. Each flower is drawn in ivory petals edged with fine gold outlines, and delicate scrolls and tendrils curl between the stems to tie the repeat together. The contrast is crisp and graphic, while the gold line work keeps the drawing refined and ornate. It gives a formal dining room, a dressing room or a dark study a strong decorative anchor.
