Gilded Scallop
The piece
Gilded Scallop borrows the fan motif of Art Deco design and builds it from thousands of tiny points. Overlapping scallops are traced in rows of cream dots that deepen into old gold and warm bronze toward their centers, all set against a dark espresso ground. The stippled drawing gives the surface a soft shimmer of light and shade. It suits a library, a den or an intimate seating corner.
